This 25 year old single grain Scotch whisky comes from Invergordon Distillery, situated on the shores of the Cromarty Firth in the Scottish Highlands. Established in 1959, Invergordon is one of Scotland's best-known grain whisky distilleries, producing spirit primarily for blended Scotch whisky, although its older single grain expressions have developed a dedicated following among enthusiasts.

Unlike single malt whisky, which is produced entirely from malted barley in pot stills, single grain whisky can incorporate other cereals and is typically distilled using continuous column stills. This produces a lighter spirit that, given sufficient time in oak, can develop remarkable richness, elegance and complexity.

After 25 years of maturation, this expression has had ample opportunity to develop the mature character that makes well-aged grain whisky so appealing. Tasting Profile Nose: Mature grain whisky often develops aromas of creamy vanilla, butterscotch, toasted coconut and caramel, accompanied by gentle oak spice, honey and hints of ripe orchard fruit. Palate: Typically smooth and rounded, with the potential for layers of vanilla custard, caramelised sugar, toasted oak, sweet cereal and delicate baking spices.

At 55.5% ABV, a few drops of water may help reveal additional complexity.
